Peter Dinklage to produce and star in an adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale Rumpelstiltskin.

Rumpelstiltskin tells the story of a miller who lies to the king, stating that his daughter can spin straw into gold. The king summons the girl to demonstrate her abilities, locking her in a tower and threatening her with death. She is forced to make a deal with the imp-like creature Rumpelstiltskin, who then demands her first born child as recompense for his assistance.

The German character first appeared in a Brothers Grimm tale and has had numerous iterations and variations on screen over the years, including appearing as one of the main characters on ABC’s Once Upon a Time portrayed by Robert Carlyle.
