Four New Films In TopTen

Four new releases wound up in this week's box-office top ten, but none of them case close to toppling last week's leaders, Universal's Meet the Parents, which earned $21.2 million, and Remember the Titans, which earned $13.1 million. New Line's Lost Souls, which was very much a loser in the minds of most critics, opened in third place with $8 million. Another poorly reviewed film, Paramount's The Ladies Man, took the fourth spot with $5.43 million, virtually tied with DreamWorks' The Contender, which wasn't much of one with $5.4 million. The top 12 films grossed $74 million, a 4.2-percent rise from the same weekend last year.
