Deadpool 2 director David Leitch has emerged as the frontrunner to direct Universal Pictures' Untitled Fast and Furious Spin-Off which will star Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.

These two actors had such great chemistry on screen together. And the prospect of them starring in a spinoff film was so exciting to the studio that they wanted to get this movie made and in theaters before Fast and Furious 9.

Fans have been waiting quite a while to get to see Dwayne Johnson's Luke Hobbs team up with Jason Statham's Deckard Show in their own Fast and Furious spin-off and it looks like the original release date of July 26th, 2019 will stand
