Touching the Void (2003) - Synopsis
Based on mountain climber Joe Simpson's memoir, Touching the Void is a documentary that uses interviews and re-enactments to tell the story of Simpson and Simon Yates. In 1985, the two young British mountaineers attempted to scale the treacherous Siula Grande peak in the Peruvian Andes, but disaster struck (more than once). How both survived, particularly Simpson, is nothing short of miraculous.
