Night of the Living Dead (1990) - Details

This feminist remake of the 1968 horror classic-all about a mob of flesh eating zombies menacing a group of mismatched survivors in an isolated farm house-features a standout performance by Patricia Tallman as "Barbara," who in the original version, spent most of the movie in a catatonic state of denial. Though, this time around, when the going gets tough, this "shrinking violet" turns into a tough talking "pistil lacking mama" ready to gun down any goul who gets in her way. However, despite a few other such twists-and an out of place upbeat ending-this version cannot hold a candle to the original. By Tracey Q. Bush
