Julia Russell (Angelina Jolie) can show a man passion unlike any he's ever known. He'll risk everything to be near her. When Luis (Antonio Banderas) takes Julia as his wife, he thinks his life is complete.

But people aren't always who they seem, and Luis's life begins to unravel. When Julia disappears with his money, Luis is forced to look into Julia's past - a past that doesn't seem to exist - and finds that the woman he loves is accused of a brutal murder. Sex and love turn to rage and revenge, and Luis sets off to find his wife - but is he capable of playing her deadly game?

Antonio Banderas (Mask of Zorro, the (1998)) and Academy Award®-winner Angelina Jolie (Girl, Interrupted (1999)) star in Original Sin, written for the screen and directed by Michael Cristofer, the Pulitzer Prize- and Directors Guild of America Award-winning filmmaker, writer and playwright who directed Jolie's star-making role in HBO's Gia.

Original Sin also stars Thomas Jane (Boogie Nights (1997)) and Jack Thompson (the upcoming Star Wars: Episode II (2002)), and was produced by Denise Di Novi, Kate Guinzburg and Carol Lees, with executive producers Sheldon Abend, Ashok Amritraj and David Hoberman. Michael S. Glick served as line producer and Edward McDonnell as co-producer.

Based upon the novel Waltz Into Darkness by Cornell Woolrich, Rodrigo Prieto (Amores Perros (2000)) served as director of photography, with production design by David J. Bomba (Apollo 13 (1995)), editing by Eric Sears (Gia), costume design by Donna Zakowska (One True Thing), and music by Terence Blanchard (Love & Basketball (2000)).
