When a scientist, Sebastian Caine (Kevin Bacon), creates a formula that succeeds in making animals invisible, he decides to ignore Pentagon orders and experiment on himself. Realising that the effects of the test are irreversible, Caine becomes obsessed with his newly found power as The Hollow Man.
