Wedding, A (1978) - Details

Carol Burnett, Mia Farrow and Geraldine Chaplin are featured in the ensemble cast of director Robert Altman's offbeat-and occasionally, off kilter-soap opera/satire about two very different families who are brought together to celebrate the wedding of a pair of star-crossed lovers. However, beneath all the pomp and circumstance, burns smoldering passions, secret desires and shocking revolutions that turns this blessed event into a "no holds barred" game of "truth or dare." My favorite performance comes from a pre-"Mork and Mindy" Pam Dawber, who plays the grooms jilted debutante girlfriend who crashes the ceremony on horseback. By Tracey Q. Bush
