When the daughter of a revered US Army General is raped and murdered, military investigator Paul Brenner (John Travolta) is brought in to hunt down the killer. Partnered by Sarah Sunhill (Madeleine Stowe), Brenner runs around like Miss Marple in army-issue boots, defying all logic and delivering long speeches as the net closes in on the suspect.
