The Times bfi London Film Festival

For 16 days the Festival will screen over 330 titles from more than 45 countries in an entertaining and thought-provoking programme, with many new works from established directors as well as some genuine fresh discoveries. A host of international stars are expected to attend the Festival that opens on Wednesday 22 October with IN THE CUT, Jane Campion's bold and provocative psychological thriller starring Meg Ryan, Mark Ruffalo, Kevin Bacon and Jennifer Jason Leigh. The Closing Night film on 6 November is SLYVIA, the eagerly awaited second feature from fellow New Zealander Christine Jeffs, starring Gwyneth Paltrow as the passionate American writer Sylvia Plath, with Daniel Craig as her poet husband Ted Hughes.
