Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue DVDIt’s almost time for Christmas and what would Christmas be without Walt Disney? A religious holiday no doubt instead of a consumer-driven present-giving greed-fest. Oh well. I suppose we have to live with it. So what will keep the kids quiet while you enjoy your extended holiday off work? How about Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue? It’s a fairytale, a delightful tale of friendship and adventure.

The voice-talent isn’t exactly top-notch, the likes of Lucy Liu (who plays Silvermist), Kristin Chenoweth (who plays Rosetta) Raven-Symoné (who plays Iridessa) and Mae Whitman who voices Tinker Bell, are far from A Listers but they all do a good job and Michael Sheen as Dr Griffiths, while an odd choice after turns in Frost/Nixon and The Damned United, also performs well.

Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue is the third instalment of Tinker Bell movies, and just as good as the previous two instalments. Disney has managed to skilfully and beautifully expand the story of Peter Pan. Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue is perfect for young girls (and perhaps boys) who will love the animation and the fun of it all.
