FUTURE CINEMA IN ASSOCIATION WITH NOKIA ANNOUNCE NEW ‘SECRET CINEMA’ EVENT

FUTURE CINEMA will host the latest SECRET CINEMA screening in association with Nokia at an undisclosed location in LONDON on Friday 3rd October 2008.

SECRET CINEMA is a groundbreaking concept that offers an exciting and unique cinematic experience to film fans in the UK. The locations of the screenings are only revealed the morning of the event to those who have signed up at www.secretcinema.org.

For those lucky enough to get tickets SECRET CINEMA and NOKIA will treat audiences to the full cinematic experience, colouring the secret screenings with live rescores and special guests ranging from installation artists to musicians and performers.

The concept was launched last year and already has a cult following with over 35,000 cinematic thrill seekers signed up to the mailing list and the largest Facebook film group in Europe with over 10,000 members.

The secret locations will vary hugely with each film and could be anything from derelict theatres to city rooftops whilst the films will vary from exclusive previews to cult classics. Following the London event, SECRET CINEMA will host further screenings in London, Bristol, Manchester and Brighton. Previous events have included an exclusive preview of Gus Van Saint’s ‘Paranoid Park’ in a disused railway tunnel in South London and a screening at Dulwich College of the 60s classic ‘If....’

“Secret Cinema is looking to put the mystery and excitement back into Cinema, changing how and where we watch films. We are delighted to be working with Nokia on making this idea bigger and building a whole new film community.” Fabien Riggall, Founder and Director, Secret Cinema / Future Cinema
