On_Line : Filmmaker Bios


Jed Weintrob, Director/Co-Writer

Through On_Line, his feature directing debut, native New Yorker Jed Weintrob combines his dynamic vision and expertise in digital technologies with his passion for storytelling. Weintrob is also an accomplished feature film producer, interactive media creator and theatre director. As a pioneer in the early years of interactive entertainment, Jed founded and ran the video game and Internet divisions of MPCA and Orion Pictures. After brokering the successful merger of Orion Interactive with MGM Interactive, Jed “went on walkabout,” backpacking and bicycling around the world for a year, crossing five continents, and developing the ideas and inspirations for On_Line and many future projects. Jed is an honors graduate of Harvard University, where he first met Andrew Osborne and Tanya Selvaratnam.


Tanya Selvaratnam, Producer

Tanya Selvaratnam comes from a family of entertainment pioneers in her native Sri Lanka. In addition to On_Line, she has been working on movie projects with MTV Networks, Forensic Films and Oscar Films UK. As an associate of, among others, The Wooster Group, The Builders Association and Anna Deavere Smith’s Institute on Arts & Civic Dialogue, she is also a noted writer and performer. In addition, she has coordinated projects and fundraised for organizations including the Ms. Foundation, Third Wave Foundation and the World Health Organization. Tanya first met Jed Weintrob when they were students at Harvard University.


Adam Brightman, Producer

Adam Brightman is a New York-based independent producer with over fifteen years’ experience in film production. In addition to On_Line, he recently produced the 1950s-set romance Two Family House (Sundance 2000 Audience Award Winner) and Race, a political drama with Paul Rodriguez and Cliff Robertson. Other producing credits include A Price Above Rubies, New Rose Hotel, If Lucy Fell and Basquiat.


Richard D. Titus, Executive Producer

Richard D. Titus is a serial entrepreneur in traditional media (including feature films, TV and advertising) as well as in new media (including thevisitor.com). He was the founder of media LLC, sold to Razorfish in 1998, where he served as a senior executive on the management team for three years. After departing Razorfish in January 2001, he co-founded plinyminor.com, working as a consultant as well as creatively on a variety of projects. Richard serves on the boards of the AFI ETV workshop, the NATPE next generation council and the interactive group of the Producers Guild.


Tavin Marin Titus, Executive Producer

Tavin Marin Titus has over 10 years of production experience. Her early credits include work under producer Charles Mulvehill on Norman Jewison's Only You and Taylor Hackford's Dolores Claiborne. In 1996 she joined Centropolis, working on ID4, The Visitor and The Patriot and also on the company's CFX and interactive and music divisions. Tavin left Centropolis in 2000 to work as an independent producer on projects including A Fate Foretold (distributed by Universal's Hypnotic) and the forthcoming tentatively titled A Concerned Citizen.


Andrew Osborne, Co-Writer

Andrew Osborne graduated from Harvard University, where he was a contributing editor of the Harvard Lampoon. Andrew worked at MPCA/Orion as a writer on numerous film projects, including the HBO Original Movies Soldier Boyz and Behind Enemy Lines. While there, he also collaborated with fellow Harvard alum Jed Weintrob on the writing and design of films, Internet entertainment and live action CD-ROM games. Recently, Andrew penned the film Dramarama for Warner Bros. and producer Andrew Lazar and the sci-fi title Freelancer for Digital Anvil, an Austin-based computer game company.

Christian Bruun, Visual Effects Supervisor, QuantumFilm.com

Christian Ditlev Bruun has eight years of professional experience in the United States and Denmark. Mr. Bruun is experienced in computer animation, art direction in advertising and music videos, web design, design, video editing, and architecture. During his 1995 to 1996 tenure in Los Angeles, he was involved in the art direction and set design of music videos for prominent, high profile artists. Since his move to New York in 1998, he has been involved in multiple projects, including creating virtual reality galleries for museums, interactive web sites and web casts for art dealers and corporations, and he has also conducted courses on computer animation and video. Currently, Mr. Bruun is working on a series of articles and a film documentary on virtual 3D environments, a project that is funded by the Danish government. Furthermore, Mr. Bruun manages the Digital Imaging Center at the School of Visual Art in New York, specializing in broadcast and interactive media.
