"Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn" arrives onto Digital on April 24 and 4K, Blu-rayTM and DVD on June 15. Margot Robbie ("Bombshell", "Once Upon a Time in...Hollywood", "I, Tonya") reprises her role as the endearingly daring ne'er-do-well Harley Quinn in DC's "Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn"

Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)
Margo Robbie is an extremely talented actress, unafraid to take risks and she often makes enjoyable movies. Harley Quinn is her most iconic character and she must be loving playing this crazy, fun, violent and complicated comic book anti-heroine. But despite Robbie giving it everything she has and producing a fantastic performance sadly Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn as a film doesn't quite live up to the hype. Much like other DC movies they just can't seem to keep pace with Marvel, who are still streets ahead in this movie genre.

I expected a film about a group of kick-ass women fighting for justice, or whatever, but they only come together as a group in the final 13 minutes despite the trailer and the hype around the film suggesting that they were a team. And the whole storyline which hinges on the point that Quinn has broken up with the Joker is flawed. Now Quinn is at the mercy of any number of villains that want to hurt her. But surely she would still be under the protection of the Joker, who would still take pleasure in brutally murdering anyone who messed with Quinn even if they were broken up simply out of a warped sense of ownership?

There is very little back story, but it was funny when Quinn blew up the factory where she and the Joker had met out of a twisted sense of ending her relationship with him. I liked that Quinn has a hyena! But didn't she has two in the comics?

It's better than Suicide Squad and Robbie has moved well from that film to this to take the lead of this movie. Yet as the major villain in this film, we have Ewan McGregor who was totally miscast. Poor characterisation, and not great acting at all. He's been a lot better in other films. I didn’t find him to be especially scary. And Rosie Perez? Seriously?

That said I think this is certainly a film that has re-watch value because the character of Quinn is enjoyable and Robbie as I said is on top form. I think that fans of either Robbie or Quinn can enjoy this film just on her performance/character. And there are other fun points in the film, it’s far from a total loss, I just think it could have been so much more.
