In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.

With his relationship with Martha on a hiatus Spencer (Alex Wolff) is eager to relive his time as Dr Bravestone so he goes back into the Jumanji game, on his own! But the game doesn’t play fairly and this time his grandad Eddie (Danny DeVito) and his grandad’s estranged best friend Milo (Danny Glover) get sucked into the weird and wonderful world too. DeVito and Glover do get a chunk of screentime to iron out their emotional conflict and to fix their friendship.

Of course it is Dwanye Johnson's Dr Smolder Bravestone and Karen Gillan's Ruby Roundhouse) that are the main stars, also back is Jack Black playing somewhat against type and Kevin Hart playing exactly to type. But they are worth their screen time and all four ooze charisma and style.

All four teens are back too – the aforementioned Spencer, Martha (Morgan Turner), Fridge (Ser’Darius Blain) and Bethany (Madison Iseman). Their screentime is less than the main stars but they are likable and perform well. Awkwafina is another addition to the cast as Ming Fleetfoot and is a very fun new character. The body-swapping is also ramped up as several characters end up changes places, but I’ll say no more about that… for fear of spoilers.

There are several exciting scenes such as when a herd of ostriches chase the group who are fleeing in dune buggies and another scene where the group are crossing rope bridges whilst being pursued by mandrills, making this action-adventure movie quite the visual treat that looks great on blu ray.

Welcome to the Jungle is an enjoyable, fast moving, funny and exciting sequel.
