ANGUS STRATHIE first designed for Baz Luhrmann with Catherine Martin, both of whom he met while he was training at Sydney's National Institute of Dramatic Art, on the theatre production of STRICTLY BALLROOM (1992). Strathie went on to win an Australian Film Institute Award and a BAFTA Award for Best Achievement in Costume Design for his work on the box-office hit STRICTLY BALLROOM (1992), based on the theatre production. Strathie previously designed for Nicole Kidman, for Luhrmann and CM's Signature Edition of Vogue Australia, in 1994. He has also designed costumes for numerous iroductions for Opera Australia and
the Australian Opera. Strathie has recently completed work on QUEEN OF THE DAMNED (2001), the sequel to INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE
