Nick Cassavetes is known as an actor, director and screenwriter. He made his screenwriting and directorial debut with the acclaimed Unhook The Stars which starred his mother, Gena Rowlands, as an elderly widow who becomes involved in the life of her young neighbor, played by Marisa Tomei. Cassavetes next directed She’s So Lovely, based on a script his father, John Cassavetes, wrote and starring Sean Penn, John Travolta and Robin Penn Wright.
Cassavetes recently directed the forthcoming hospital hostage thriller John Q starring Denzel Washington, Robert Duvall and Anne Heche. He will next adapt for the screen and direct Going After Cacciato, based on Tim O’Brien’s award-winning novel about an AWOL soldier.
As an actor, Cassavetes’s feature film credits include The Independent, Panic, The Astronaut’s Wife, Life, Face/Off and numerous others.
