Biography

JACEK KOMAN graduated in 1978 from the State Academy of Film Television and Theatrical Studies in Lodz, Poland with a Masters in Dramatic Arts. Since settling in Australia, Koman's recent theatre credits have included Jacques in AS YOU LIKE IT 1992, Claudius in HAMLET and Picasso in PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE - all for
director Neil Armfield's Company B. He also played Tartuffe in Barrie Kosky's production of TARTUFFE and Azdac in Michael Kantor's Belvoir St Theatre production of THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE.

In the late '80s and early '90s, Koman performed in a wide range of projects with Anthill Theatre Company in Melbourne, including Estragon in WAITING FOR GODOT 1991 directed by Jean Pierre Mignon. Koman received a Green Room Award Nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role and an Age Performing Arts Award for Best Dramatic Performance for his performance as Roy Cohn in Neil Armfield's production of ANGELS IN
AMERICA. ( Koman's Australian feature film credits include SOUND OF ONE HAND CLAPPING, THE (1998), THANK GOD HE MET LIZZIE (1997), LUCKY BREAK (1994) and the lead in WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN (1995).
