James Bissell won a prestigious BAFTA Award for his work on E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Bissell is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a fine arts degree in theatre. He moved to New York and worked on commercials and documentaries for two years before moving to the West Coast, where he worked as an art director.
