Biography

DAN HALSTED, president of Halsted Pictures, has a first-look producing deal with Peter Guber's Mandalay Pictures, based at Paramount.

Prior to forming his own company, Halsted was the president of Illusion Entertainment Group, a partnership with Oliver Stone. His producing credits while at Illusion include Stone's hit film "Any Given Sunday," the critically acclaimed "The Virgin Suicides," Oliver Stone's Academy Award-nominated "Nixon," "The Corruptor," "U-Turn," "Freeway" and "Cold Around the Heart." He also executive produced the award-winning documentary "Assassinated: The Last Days of Kennedy and King," for TBS.

Before joining Illusion, Halsted was Senior Vice President of Production at Hollywood Pictures, during which he oversaw production on numerous successful films, including "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle."

Halsted began his career at Twentieth Century Fox, where he served as executive assistant to Scott Rudin, the head of production.
