Julianne Moore is in talks to play the villain in "The Kingsman 2," the upcoming sequel to 20th Century Fox's surprise 2015 hit starring Colin Firth and launching the career of Taron Egerton.

Matthew Vaughn, who directed the first chapter in the continuing franchise, will be back to helm this latest adventure. The story will continue to follow wayward tough Eggsy as he moves from the wrong side of the tracks of London to become a suave and sophisticated special agent.

One person who won't be back, it's now been revealed, is Colin Firth. There had been chatter about finding a way to squeeze him into the sequel somehow, but it seems that those plans have been scrapped.

Kingsman: The Secret Service 2 is due in cinemas in June 2017.
