Anna Kendrick has revealed that she will take part in a special performance at the Oscars later this month.

The actress confirmed her participation in a tweet yesterday (February 9).

"Out of the woods and on to the Oscar stage, Anna will be performing something special that is sure to be an 'Only on the Oscars' moment," said show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.

Kendrick recently played Cinderella in the film adaptation of the musical Into the Woods (2014).

Later this year, she will reprise her role as Beca Mitchell in Pitch Perfect 2.

It is not clear exactly what the 29-year-old will be performing on the night, which takes place at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre on Sunday, February 22.
