More Obi-Wan Kenobi Spin-Off Rumours Surface.

The Star Wars spin-off films are now a confirmed project, with Disney and Lucasfilm emplying the likes of Josh Trank and Gareth Edwards to work on movies that will fit in between the new trilogy entries. Their subjects remain shrouded in mystery but now a fresh rumour has surfaced about Obi-Wan Kenobi getting his own movie.

Naturally, we’d caution that you should keep the Star Wars Rumour Alert Klaxon on standby, but according to Making Star Wars, there could be movement on the concept. “For the spin-off movies they were initially going to stay away from any Jedi or Sith characters,” says the site. “But I’m hearing now that because of the popularity of Obi-Wan (fans recently voting for him on the official website etc.) that an art team is now working with a writer on concepts for an Obi-Wan movie.” If you should visit that site, be warned that there are other, more spoilery rumours about Episode VII.

And we’re fairly sure Ewan McGregor would want to be involved, timeline permitting. "I think it's a good idea," he told MTV News last year. "The only bit that I could get away with doing is after the last one I made, Episode III, before Alec Guinness, there's that period where he's in the desert. That might be my window, there, to tell that story. I don't know what he did in the desert. We could make up some stuff." He might just be getting his wish.

Of course, nothing is official until it is announced, so until then, the only currently confirmed films are Episodes VII, VIII and IX, with the first due on December 18, 2015
