Daniels: Dumb To tops other films.

Jeff Daniels has revealed that Dumb And Dumber To will make the previous films "pale in comparison".

The 58-year-old actor, who won a best actor Emmy for his role in The Newsroom, said his celebrations would be brief as he collected his award because he has to start work on the eagerly anticipated sequel to Dumb And Dumber.

"I'm going to get on a plane and go to Atlanta and start shooting Dumb And Dumber To," he told E! News.

"The intellectual free-fall from Will MacAvoy to Harry Dunn, imagine if you will," he added.

Jeff will reprise his role as Harry, the dim-witted best friend of Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey), in Peter and Bobby Farrelly's follow-up.

The actor teased: "There are some things that's we're going to do in Dumb And Dumber To that make the toilet scene in the original seem lame. Pales in comparison and I can't divulge what, but just that they've topped it."

"They best thing about it? I get to work with a comedic genius," he added.

Kathleen Turner has joined the cast as the friends' love interest Fraida Felcher, while Brady Bluhm will return to play the pair's blind neighbour Billy in the film, which has been co-written by the Farrelly brothers and Bennet Yellin, who wrote the first movie, along with The Stooges' Mike Cerrone.
