Del Toro wants Cumberbatch reunion.

Guillermo del Toro has revealed he would like Benedict Cumberbatch to join his movie version of Frankenstein.

The Pacific Rim (2013) director, who is already working with the British star on his horror thriller Crimson Peak, has already set his sights on their next collaboration.

"I am hoping to direct Cumberbatch again in a new film version of Frankenstein," he told the Daily Telegraph, reported NME.com.

Guillermo's Frankenstein film has been in development since 2009, and the Mexican director has said he wants Doug Jones, an actor who specialises in make-up-heavy roles to play the Monster.

Benedict previously appeared in Danny Boyle's 2011 stage production of Mary Shelley's novel in London. The lead roles of Victor Frankenstein and the Monster were alternated between the Sherlock star and Jonny Lee Miller.

The British actor already has three upcoming movies due out in 2013, including Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, The (2013) where he voices the dragon Smaug, August: Osage County with Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts and The Fifth Estate, in which he plays WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

He will also reprise his role as famed detective Sherlock Holmes in the third series of BBC drama Sherlock, which is expected to air on BBC One in late 2013 or early 2014.
