One Shot for Rosamund Pike

Rosamund Pike has landed the lead female role in 'One Shot'. The British actress will appear alongside Tom Cruise in the Christopher McQuarrie-directed movie, adapted from the Lee Child novel series.

Rosamund was among a small group of actresses trying out for the role, which will see Tom playing retired military policeman Jack Reacher, while she will play local attorney Helen Rodin, who is defending a man arrested for shooting five people dead with a sniper rifle.

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Gary Levinsohn and Paula Wagner will produce the movie, while Ken Kamins will executive produce.

The film, which is being adapted from Lee Child's series of novels featuring the retired military policeman Jack Reacher, centres on a man who investigates a series of homicides involving a trained military sniper that shot five seemingly random victims.

Cruise was confirmed for the role of Reacher in July.

Rosamund, 32, is best known for her roles in James Bond movie 'Die Another Day' and Jane Bennett in 'Pride and Prejudice' and will next be seen in comedy movie 'Johnny English Reborn' with Rowan Atkinson.
