Salma Hayek has called off her engagement to businessman Francois-Henri Pinault, her publicist has said.

Cari Ross declined to give any further comment as to why the Mexican-born star made the decision.

The pair, who have a baby daughter named Valentina, announced their plans to marry in March 2007.
