Stars have been arriving for the opening of the 60th Cannes Film Festival.
Andie McDowell was among those descending on the French resort .
The festival opens tonight with My Blueberry Nights, directed by Wong Kar Wai and starring Norah Jones.
Also being shown this year are Ocean's Thirteen, Angelina Jolie's A Mighty Heart and Leonardo DiCaprio's eco-documentary The 11th Hour.
The festival will also feature Daniel Craig's The Golden Compass, Michael Moore's Sicko and a midnight screening of a 3-D concert movie featuring U2.
Sunday will see the festival mark its 60th anniversary with the world premiere of Chacun son cinema, an omnibus featuring short contributions from 35 film-makers, including Roman Polanski and the Coen brothers.
