Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz have agreed to star together in a new comedy-drama called A Little Game Without Consequence.

According to The Hollywood Reporter they will play a married couple who as a joke decide to fool friends into thinking they have broken up.

However, the plan backfires when their close ones reveal that they never thought they belonged together in the first place.

It is not the first time the pair have starred together - they appeared in 1994's The Mask.

Filming is planned to start next month in New York.
