Ashton Kutcher and Lindsay Lohan have been voted the most powerful young talents in Hollywood.

Both beat stars Natalie Portman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jessica Alba and Scarlett Johansson to top the poll in US magazine Teen People.

Ashton - star of 'The Butterfly Effect' and MTV's 'Punk'd' reality show - took first place while 19-year-old Lohan - who now reportedly earns around $7million a movie and is currently starring in 'Herbie: Fully Loaded' - scooped second spot.

Readers of the magazine voted British 'Lord of the Rings' star Orlando Bloom in third place, while blonde teenager Hilary Duff ranked fourth.

Actress Reese Witherspoon was placed fifth in the list of influential young talents.

Amy Barnett, managing editor at Teen People, is quoted in America's USA Today website as saying: "We've seen an increase in young celebrities that control their own media empires.

"Our readers understand that true Hollywood power is not just being a great artist. It's being a creative force."
