Julian: I've been in talks for Bond role

Australian actor Julian McMahon has admitted he has been in talks with the producers of the next James Bond

movie Casino Royale about playing 007.

The 36-year-old Charmed and Nip/Tuck star told The Australian: "I have been in talks, but I don't know what's going to happen."

And, he told the Sydney Daily Telegraph, "It works to my advantage too. Even if I hadn't spoken to them, the press that I've got has been enormous. But I have spoken to them."

McMahon says his mother is "100 per cent supportive" of his career, where he's often cast in bad guy roles and as plastic surgeon Christian Troy on Nip/Tuck has had several nude scenes.

He said: "She's not a prude, but it's not like you really want to see your son's a**e on TV and, unfortunately, she gets to see it a lot in this show."

He said his mother, who accompanied him on the red carpet at the recent Golden Globe awards where he was nominated for his role as Dr Troy "is so proud and so happy seeing me having realised my dream."

McMahon stars as the evil Dr Victor Von Doom in the upcoming Fantastic Four alongside Ioan Gruffudd and Jessica Alba.
