Orlando Bloom is set to play a young James Bond in a prequel to the long-running series.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star has confirmed reports he is in talks to take the title role in Young 007, says Hello magazine.

The actor told Sky Movies: "I love the idea, in principle, as he can be far more adventurous and do more stunts.

"This is as near as I think I will get to playing the grown-up James for the next 20 years."

In the film, Bloom will portray a teenage Bond who is still studying at Eton.
