Nicole Kidman has defended controversial scenes from her latest film where she shares a bath and passionately kisses a 10-year-old boy.
The star - who plays a grieving widow who believes her husband has been reincarnated in the body of the boy in new movie Birth - claimed the scenes were justified in the context of the film.
She said: "It wasn't really an intimate scene. I believe that the boy is a man, and at no point do I ever think that he's a genuine boy.
"I grapple with the idea, and I hope that it's true, that my dead husband has come back."
Birth will be released in the UK on November 5 reports Femalefirst.
