Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell has joined the cast of Peter Jackson's upcoming remake of King Kong.

According to The Hollywood Reporter he will play a young cameraman, who will accompany filmmaker Carl Denham (played by Jack Black) in his mission to Skull Island, where he hopes to capture the giant gorilla.

Other cast members include Adrien Brody and Naomi Watts.

The film is due to be released in December 2005.
