Roger Moore's son for Bond role?

Roger Moore's son Geoffrey is said to have attended a read-through for the part of James Bond.

The Sun says the 37-year-old restaurateur and actor is on the shortlist of candidates to replace current 007 Pierce Brosnan for the next film.

The paper says he attended the read-through with producer Barbara Broccoli following the collapse of contract negotiations between film bosses and Brosnan.

It's 19 years since Moore senior, the third official movie Bond, made way for Timothy Dalton following A View To A Kill.

A source said: "Geoffrey is like a real-life Bond. He looks the part, too. He's a dashing upper-class restaurateur who lives a real jet-setting lifestyle. If anything, he is more like James Bond than his dad."

Geoffrey Moore spends much of his time in the posh Swiss resort of Gstaad, and also owns trendy eateries Hush and Shumi in London.

He has acted in the past, appearing on TV and in three movies, including secret agent caper Fit To Kill.

But if he's to land the part of Bond he'll have to beat the likes of Clive Owen, Hugh Jackman and Jude Law, who are all tipped for the role.

The next Bond movie, the 21st, is scheduled for release in November next year.
