New Harry Potter 'the best yet'

The first reviews of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) suggest its the best Harry Potter film so far.

Reviews started appearing on movie websites within hours of the world premiere in New York.

Harry Knowles, of the influential American site aint-it-cool-news, dubbed it the "first genuinely great summer 2004 film".

Spanish director Alfonso Cuaron, who took over the series from Chris Columbus, has brought a dark atmosphere and a sense of gritty realism to the series, said Knowles.

"It all feels so easy, so elegant and so effortless," he added. "He understands magic more purely than anyone I'm watching make films today."
