The original Star Wars trilogy is to be released on DVD later this year.

Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi will be released as a box set on September 21, reports Empire.

A fourth disc is expected to include a new documentary as well as unseen footage and other bonus materials.

George Lucas had originally planned to wait until Episode III was ready for DVD before releasing the originals.
