Baby Boy For Potter Author

Harry Potter author J.K Rowling has become a mum for the second time.

The multi-millionairess writer gave birth to a baby son, David Gordon Rowling Murray, in the Simpson Maternity Unit at Edinburgh's new Royal Infirmary.

A hospital spokeswoman said: "We are delighted to say that JK Rowling gave birth to a son on Sunday."

A spokeswoman for 38-year-old Rowling said the writer was delighted and that mum and new baby were both doing well.

Her husband Neil Murray, who quit as an anaesthetist at St John's Hospital, Livingston, to spend more time with his wife, was with her at the birth. But last night mother and new baby were already believed to be back at their Morningside mansion in Edinburgh with 32-year-old Neil and daughter Jessica, 10, from Rowling's first marriage to Portuguese journalist Jorges Arantes.

JK - Joanne Kathleen - has a new book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, due out on June 21. But she has told her publishers she will not be going on a promotional tour for it because she wants to devote her time to new baby David.
