Tobey Says He Will Be Spider-Man Again

Doubts that Tobey Maguire would reprise his role as super-hero, Spider-Man, have been put aside by the Hollywood star as he assured fans that he will be back.

Reports that Tobey had received a back injury whilst filming Seabiscuit (2003) in which he plays a jockey had generated rumours that he may not be able to play Spider-Man in the sequel.

Kirsten Dunst's boyfriend was said to have been considered for the part, but Jake Gyllenhaal has never been offered the role and Tobey never had any intentions of pulling out of the role. The confusion arose after Maguire's publicist Kelly Bush expressed concerns over the strength of his back.

The box office hit of last year will be returning in May 2004 and will see Tobey netting a whopping $17 million, compared to £4 million which he received for the first movie.
