Ewan McGregor's "Paradise" Feud

Ewan McGregor no longer sees his former pal and collaborator Danny Boyle after he lost the lead in Beach, The (2000) to Leonardo DiCaprio.

The pair made a trio of successful films together: Shallow Grave (1994), Trainspotting (1996) and Life Less Ordinary, A (1997). But under pressure to produce a box office smash, the director plumped for Titanic (1997) star Leo for his paradise movie, when many thought the role would go to the Scottish actor.

Ewan, now arguably as big a star as his replacement, says, "It was very badly dealt with so, and not about the film. You know, the film was almost irrelevant; it was a friendship issue and all of those things. It was very unfortunate and so I don't see any of them anymore and that's a shame."

Since The Beach, Ewan has hit Hollywood with a lead role as Obi Wan Kenobi in the new Star Wars (1977) trilogy.
