Revelation Online £20,000 Competition

Legendary British independent film company Romulus are releasing an online game to coincide with the release of Revelation (2001), their first film for 28 years.

The game Genesis is expected to become the most popular game ever used to promote a film, with £20,000 worth of prizes on offer, including a car, laptop, holiday in Malta and GPS handheld device.

All the prizes are props and or locations found in the mystical blockbuster, released on April 12.

It’s estimated that Genesis will attract up to half a million players, who must build up a ‘family tree’ by signing up trusted friends at the game’s microsite.

When the game has finished players will be told where they can catch the film locally, as well as the day and time it’s on.

The lucky winners are the players with the biggest most complete family trees. Each player can view their own family tree and make sure their rivals aren’t getting too far ahead by checking the game’s leader-board.

Revelation (2001) stars Terence Stamp and is about the hunt for an ancient relic which has been fought over by the forces of light and darkness for centuries.

To find and understand the relic, the ancient arts of geometry, astrology and alchemy must be combined with modern cyber skills and cryptography.

Romulus Films are responsible for classics like The Day of the Jackal, Oliver! (1968) and African Queen (1951).

The Genesis game built by technical development agency Menafin.

Play the game at the Revelation website.
