Billy Bob Impressed With Halle's Hillbilly Performance
Eccentric actor Billy Bob Thornton was ready to teach Halle Berry how to be hillbilly for new film Monster's Ball (2001) - until he realised she didn't need any help.
Thornton, husband of Tomb Raider (2001) bombshell Angelina Jolie, was pleasantly surprised by the award-winning actress' ability to masquerade as a Southern country girl.
And the bandits (2001) star is all the more impressed with Berry's performance, as it has now earned her Emmy and Oscar nominations and a SAG award.
He says, "As the only hillbilly in Monster's Ball, I thought I'd have to be the dialect coach, but she played the character perfectly."
