Britney Spears was caught in the middle of a security scare in
Paris, France, on Tuesday night (12th March 2002) when a stone was thrown through a glass door just feet away from the singer.

The pop princess was whisked into a cinema staging the French
premiere of her debut movie Crossroads (2002) by a swarm of bodyguards as glass shattered onto the red carpet outside the event.

Minutes later, Britney was escorted from the premises to a
waiting fleet of cars as fans screamed after her.

Police are investigating exactly what happened and whether the singer was in fact a target.
