Movie stunner MEG RYAN is desperate to have another child now that she's turned 40. According to America's STAR MAGAZINE, since the milestone birthday on Monday (19NOV01) the CITY OF ANGELS beauty has realised she has only a few years to give her son JACK, nine, a younger sibling.

A friend of the actress tells the mag, "Everywhere Meg goes, she sees babies. Her heart aches for a little brother or sister for Jack. Meg's strategy includes meeting the right guy, dating him for at least a year, getting Jack's approval, getting married and then getting pregnant. One of the first questions out of her mouth when you invite her anywhere is, 'Are any cute, available men going to be there?' "

And she hasn't ruled out a return to her ex-husband DENNIS QUAID, according to the pal, who adds, "Meg has a soft spot in her heart for Dennis. It's not out of the question that they could get married again. " (NFA/WNWSMG/KW)
