Stars Flee Hollywood For West End Stage


Following on the footsteps of NICOLE KIDMAN and KATHLEEN TURNER, even more Hollywood stars are invading the London, England stage. MUMMY, The (1999) star BRENDAN FRASER, A.I.: Artificial Intelligence (2001) actress FRANCES O'CONNOR and NED BEATTY are all appearing in the TENNESSE WILLIAMS play CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF at the LYRIC THEATRE next month (SEP01).

DELIVERANCE (1972) star Beatty says, "A lot of things we have been doing in Hollywood were not that fulfilling as far as story-telling was concerned. " O'Connor adds, "So much in films is about the lighting and the camera and the effects, and it's not that satisfying for an actor. Sometimes you feel you're not really earning your money. "

Fraser says that performing on the London stage was the fulfilment of a long-held ambition. He says, "The opportunity to play a part like this comes along once in a lifetime.
