Cash Boost For Actors

Hollywood's biggest stars are among those set for a pay rise after actors' unions agreed a new three year deal. Television actors will receive an extra 9. 5 per cent in their pay packets, after a massive 96. 7 per cent of members of the two main unions voted for it.

The contract had been approved in July (01), but went before nearly 135,000 members of the SCREEN ACTORS GUILD and the AMERICAN FEDERATION OF TELEVISION AND RADIO ARTISTS before being signed. Guild spokeman GREG KRIZMAN says,

"The estimated value of this package is at least $123 million (£94 million), but with any improvement in the economy at all, it will be worth well beyond that. "

The new contract with studios also means more cash for stunt coordinators and lead actors, as well as extra payment for reruns on the FOX NETWORK. (BRC/WNWCC/NFA)
