Shrek Tops British Box Office Again

Animated comedy SHREK (2001) has bounced back to number one in the British box office movie chart. The anti-fairytale flick replaced TOMB RAIDER (2001), taking $3. 64 million (£2. 8 million) this weekend compared to the action film's $2. 86 million (£2. 2 million).

Shrek has now made $18. 46 million (£14. 2 million) during its three weeks on release in Britain that's already $2. 6 million (£2 million) more than war epic PEARL HARBOR (2001), which has been in cinemas for seven weeks (begsMAY01).

KEANU REEVES' new romantic film, SWEET NOVEMBER (2001), could only reach number seven with just under $260,000 (£200,000). (RP/WNWCAN/ES)
