A church pal of 007 star JAMES BOND is to do the honours at the actor's wedding in ASHFORD CASTLE (Ireland) next month (04AUG01).

Limerick-born MONSIGNOR JOHN FLEMING will wed Pierce and his fiancee KEELY SHAYE-SMITH at ST MARY'S CHURCH in the grounds of the plush castle in CONG, County Mayo.

The Rector of the Pontifical Irish College in Rome has become close friends with Pierce since they met during a break in the filming of the JAMES BOND movie world is Not Enough, The (1999).

Last year (00) the wedding was postponed twice after Pierce's teenage son SEAN was badly injured in a car crash in California. The re-arranged reception at Ashford Castle means that Brosnan will not lose the $112,500 (£75,000) deposit he paid for his original bash for 100 guests. (RXT/IS/ES)
