Harry Gets The Wrong End Of The Stick

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) has been slammed by white witches because the schoolboy hero flies his broomstick back to front!

KEVIN CARLYON, a high priest of British white witches, is so annoyed that he has cast a spell cursing the $145 million (£110 million) film's success at the box office when it is released in November (01). He says, "You would think, with the millions of pounds that have been spent on this film, that the makers would have done their homework. "

Film-maker WARNER BROS refused to comment on this criticism, while a spokesman for BLOOMSBURY BOOKS, J K ROWLING's publisher, is keen to point out that the Harry Potter books are meant to be fun rather than wholly accurate. "The books are not meant to be true-to-life accounts of witchcraft. We won't be changing the way Harry uses his broomstick. " (SC/WNSEX/PDD)
