Actor TOM CRUISE faces an embarrassing birthday boycott - with scores of Hollywood stars set to choose NICOLE KIDMAN over him.

The TOP GUN (1986) hunk has invited dozens of Tinseltown's top names to his 39th birthday bash on 6 July (01) at the BUFFALO CLUB in Los Angeles.

But with many of his close friends being shared with estranged wife Nicole, from whom he split in January (01), divided loyalties could leave his party looking rather empty.

But, according to Britain's DAILY RECORD newspaper, Tom need not worry too much. A source close to the star says, "This being Hollywood, the player with the most clout wins. So, in the end, Tom is likely to get a full house. " (MCM/WNTRE/KW)
